2010 Emo Hairstyles Color Trends

2010 Emo Hairstyles Color Trends

Emo hairstyles are favored by most teenagers today with its catchy look and unique hair features. But what makes a hairstyle emo is the proper application of the elements before you can actually call it emo. There are many factors to consider in an emo haircut. From the length to the fringes, the style greatly matters. Although there is a freedom to modify the haircut for a more personalized and more unique look, you have to know the basics of emo haircuts.
One element with every emo hairstyle is the emo hair color trends.
Basically, emo hair is jet black for most people. With people with non-black hair, some dye them to achieve this look. There are thousands of emo kids who have black hair and with the trend being extremely popular, sometimes you cannot differentiate the natural black from the dyed one. However, if you do not have black hair, you can also keep your current hair color and still become emo.
Deep colors like brunettes can apply highlights that have unusual shades or stark contrasts. Various hair colors can be tinted with different highlights depending on the shade. The hair acts as the canvas for several colors according to the likes of the one wearing it. Vibrant colors may be used such as bloody red, white accents and orange tones. Other emo kids dye their hair white and apply vibrant and bold colors like blue and pink. Generally, with the evolution of the emo look, hair color is no longer restricted to black alone. You can have an emo hair with the use of different bright and rich colors.

Accessorizing Emo Style in 2010

Accessorizing Emo Style in 2010

Accessories will go a long way toward making an emo outfit complete. You can have the right pants, the right shoes, the right shirt and the right hair, but without the right accessories, people won’t think you are totally emo. Bags, jewelry, glasses, and belts are all important parts of emo accessorizing.

First of all, you’ve got to find a great looking emo bag. Emos are literary types, right? You’ve got to have something cool to carry your books in, and backpacks or messenger bags are a great addition to any emo wardrobe.

With jewelry, anything works as long as it somehow shows who you are. You want your jewelry to be a conversation starter, so look for unusual stuff that will make a statement when you wear it.

Emos love to look intellectual, and glasses are a great way to accomplish that. Black, horn-rimmed glasses of the 60’s and 70’s are totally hot eyewear.

The belt is another huge part of emo accessorizing. Always be looking in thrift stores for cool belts with large and weird belt buckles. Contrast is great with the belts, so if you have black jeans, try to find belts that are either white or bright colors. You can always layer belts by putting one through the belt loops and then rest a looser one on your hips.

Accessorizing your emo look will finish off your style and will let everyone know who you are, what you are about and where you are going.

Tips for Trendy Emo Piercings In 2010

Tips for Trendy Emo Piercings In 2010

Piercings are a signature of the emo look. If you are trying to decide which piercings will go best with the emo style that you are trying to achieve, there are some important things to know about the hottest trends.
Piercings on emos do not have to be over the top, but they should be pretty noticeable. Most emos aren’t going to have chains running across their faces, but some facial piercings are pretty much the norm for this style. Lips and eyebrows are standard places for emo piercings. Some emos like to get piercings in the nose and chin as well. Usually the piercings on the face are just small metals balls that can be silver or another color. Gold typically isn’t used for emo jewelry.
Using ear gauges is a way of stretching out the ear lobe and it is a popular trend among emos. At the opposite end of the spectrum, many jewelry stores now have magnetic jewelry that make it look like you have piercings, but in fact, there is no piercing at all. There is mock jewelry for gauges, lip piercings, and nose piercings. Using this magnetic jewelry is a great way of getting the hot look you want without having to pierce your body. Parents tend to be big fans of the magnetic jewelry.
Make sure you don’t go too over the top with the jewelry so that your look isn’t mistaken for punk or Goth. Piercings, whether fake or real, can give that extra touch to your emo look.

One of Sarah Harding's great looks is a blonde emo cut. Her bangs are straight, swept to the side, and cover that eye about halfway. There are lots of shags and uneven layers in this style and you have to add volume to the back if you want this look.

Simply use a hairdryer at your roots. If you like to make statements and use different colors in your hair, this is a great style for you to do that. It’s also good for those with delicate features.

Emo Haircuts, Hairstyles 2010 Trends

Emo Haircuts, Hairstyles 2010 Trends

Emo hair is most often dyed black with a bright burst of color added. Emo haircuts often have asymmetrical lines and are razor cut. Emo styles also take advantage of layers. These hairstyles can take hours to perfect and no two are exactly alike. These are truly unique styles.

The latest trend for Emo boys’ haircuts are layers, spikes, and shags. It’s best to have straight hair for these styles so make sure wavy and curly hair is straightened first. Layers should be numerous lengths all over the head. Most Emo boys’ prefer to have long streaks of hair at back or alongside one side with the top spiked up with a very thin layer of bangs. A razor cut done on the front, sides, and back with long hair swept to either side is also popular. Probably the most well known Emo boys’ styles is to have the back cut in a close shag and the front swept to the side over one eye.

The most popular styles for Emo girls are cropped short and dyed black. They often have long bangs that are worn over the eyes and the hair is shorter around the ears, longer in the back and front. The hairstyles usually sport many different layers like Emo boys’ styles and the ends are often razored. Always start with straightened hair. A flat iron will give you this look easily. Then just use a bit of gel to spike up the back. It is also very common for Emo girls to use bold highlights on their hair. These can be in any color – pink, white, and whatever else you can think of. A trendy hair band can be used to separate the smooth front of the hairstyle from the spiked up back.

Hot Emo Style for Guys 2010

Hot Emo Style for Guys
2010

Whether you are a guy looking for help to dress like your emo friends or you are a girl trying to help your guy look hot, emo style is easy as long as you know the hot trends for the fall. Jeans, shoes and shirts make the base of the emo wardrobe. Add some emotive accessories and you be the best-dressed emo around town.

The first thing you’ve got to find is a pair of skinny jeans. Many stores sell these. They should be black, long and tight. Emo guys are known for wearing girls’ jeans, and that is fine as long as the jeans fit tightly.

High top shoes are the footwear of choice for emo style. “Chuck Taylor’s” are the perfect sneaker, but if you can’t find a pair of these at your local thrift store, a different brand of high-tops will work just as well.

Speaking of thrift stores, check them out for shirts. Vintage shirts from the 80’s that have logos on them are hot emo style. Cowboy shirts are a great choice, too. If you can find a T-shirt with a print that reflects who you are, you’ll be at the highest level of emo style.

Belts, piercings, tattoos and hats top off the emo look for guys. The cool thing about dressing emo is that you can show the world what you are all about. So be creative, have fun and you’ll be well on your way to having the hottest emo style this fall.

The Hottest Trends in Emo Tattoos

The Hottest Trends in Emo Tattoos

Emo is all about showing your emotions on your sleeve. It is hard to show emotions in your clothes and shoes, but tattoos are the perfect way to let the world know who you are and what you care about. Emo tattoos are not the tattoos of the typical biker or skater. Knowing the trends in tattoos will help you stay ahead of the crowd and achieve that total emo look.
Emo Star Tattoo

Photo/Chromewavesdotorg
Many emos like to have stars tattooed on their forearms. This is pretty typical for guys; this isn’t really a trend for the girls, as they like to have stars put on the backs of their necks. Usually, the tattoos are just outlines of stars and aren’t filled in.
Since emos tend toward the intellectual side of things, tattooing the line from a favorite poem is a great way to “wear your emotion on your sleeve”. Some emos like to have stars tattooed around the words. Hard-core emos get very large tattoos across their chests or “sleeve tattoos” that cover the area from the wrist up to the elbow. These tattoos can reflect anything that is important to the emo and that tells the world what they are about. Shoulders are another popular place for emo tattoos. Again the tattoo is personal and while hearts, stars and skulls are popular, pretty much anything goes as long as you can explain how it reflects who you are. Be creative when designing your tattoos. The more unusual the tattoo, the more comments you’ll get.

Trendy Fashion Tips for Emo Girls 2009, 2010

Trendy Fashion Tips for Emo Girls 2009, 2010

It’s back to school time and your mom is nagging you to go shopping for some new clothes. She so totally doesn’t get the emo look and you are trying to be patient, but it’s hard. Use the word “TAJ” to help her understand. “T” is for thrift store, “A” is for accessories and “J” is for jeans.

First of all, tell mom you need a trip to the best thrift store in town. You need a thrift store that is going to have tons of clothes from the 80’s. “Alligator” golf/polo shirts and cowboy shirts are staples for emo dressing. Vintage t-shirts with big print drawings are a great find, so grab any of those you see.

Accessories are so important to emo style. Belts with the most ridiculous buckle you can find are so in this fall. Depending on your piercings, the more metal the better as far as emo accessorizing goes.

The last piece of the basic emo wardrobe is a pair of skinny jeans. Preferably black, skinny jeans are such a part of emo style that it would be best to have a couple pairs of them. To change things up a little, high water pants are cool, too. If you spot a pair of those at the thrift store, grab them too.

Being patient with your mom will go a long way in having her get on board with your emo styling. Give her enough info and she might even have fun helping you shop!

Doing Emo T-Shirts

Doing Emo T-Shirts - 2009-2010 Emo Style Edition

Part of emo style is showing the world what you are all about. How you dress is a great way to creatively describe the inner you. The trendy emo way to do this is to wear shirts with different logos or sayings printed on them. Vintage shirts from the 80’s are the understated way to dress in emo style. You can find lots of emo T-shirts all over the web. Some of them have hearts, others of them try to describe what emo is, and some of them have emo band logos on them. Most are black, but if you are trying to get that trendy contrast with black skinny jeans, you can easily find pink emo T-shirts. Those work well with the current emo trends.

The best place to find emo shirts that aren’t T-shirts is the thrift store. If that isn’t working for you, then look for plaid woven shirts at the mall. For the fall, these plaids should be primarily pink, red, turquoise, or, of course, black. Sweatshirts with hoods are another good find. Even better are corsets for the girls and vests for the guys. These are totally hot emo looks for the fall. The most popular corsets and the vests seem to be black. Guys should wear a black T-shirt under their vest. Have fun working on your emo look by having a variety of different shirts and hooded jackets. Several shirts and a pair of skinny jeans will give you an emo look that you’ll never get tired of!

Emo Hair and Fashions

Emo Hair and Fashions

What is emo, exactly? Emo is an abbreviation for emotional, and is considered an attitude and fashion statement based in emocore, or emo music. The culture of the emo people began development in the early 90’s and is still in the height of its ever growing popularity today.
Emo haircuts for the medium length hair include brushing the hair from the crown of the head forward, and having long bangs with long sides as well. This used to be known as a “shag” haircut in the 60’s but the emo have commandeered the style and made it their own. This is great for any hair length above the shoulders.

Fashions in the emo world include tight pants on males and females, as well as a grunge appearance. Dark makeup on the eyes of both sexes, as well as pale skin and dark hair colors are a trademark of the emo culture. Pants on males are normally females’ jeans, bought a few sizes too small, and on females they should fit snug. Tee shirts of varying styles are accepted, with emo band shirts being the most popular.
Messy emo cuts are easy to emulate, as they are considered the ‘rock styles’ of the emo culture. This style includes the bump at the crown of the hair, moderately teased to create the bump. Brushing over the top layer of teased hair makes the bump appear less emo, so simply leave it alone. Add a stylish tiara in front of the bump for the most popular of all emo cuts.

Emo Versus Scene Style

Emo Versus Scene Style

There are many people who confuse the Scene style with the Emo style. The reason behind this is that both of these styles look really similar. Here is a look at Emo versus Scene style.
Emo style involves wearing really tight clothes. Emo style also involves unique haircuts. Emo girls generally sport shorter hair then scene girls and their hair is usually dyed in black color with colored streaks. Emo boys usually look untidy with their shaggy hair locks. Their hair partially covers a single eye.

Scene Vs. Emo Style

Scene style on the other hand involves wearing really tight pants that make the legs look skinny. They wear shirts featuring a band. Usually their t shirts have bright neon colors. Also their shirts have some cartoon characters like a poke`mon. The Scene style also involves wearing a lot of accessories. They are usually chunky jewelry, big bands and huge bracelets. These accessories do not have to match in color ass long as they look good together. The Scene girls wear Converse or ballet flats. The boys usually wear the avaiator sunglasses.
Both the styles are very similar and both are extremely popular.

Emo Makeover

Emo Makeover

The emo style is becoming a rage among both boy and girls these days. If you really want to adopt this look, then the best way to do is to wear a black T-shirt. The jeans should be fitted along with a studded belt. The dark kohl also comes as a necessity of this look. The kohl should be quite thick near the eyes. If you really slosh it, then it will make your eyes look horrifying. Moreover, colored eyeliner would be a good idea with a colored T-shirt.

The whole essence of the Emo look is to appear funky. So, accessories like wristbands and fingerless gloves are a must. Even nail varnish can perfect this look for you if you are wearing exciting colors. Nail colors like blood red, jet black and silver are great for this look. You can even sport a nose ring or a stud for this look. To further make yourself look cool, go for a torn vintage denim blue or black jacket. The great ideas for this look are black ribbons tied on hair. The Emo look can also be accentuated if you are willing to support it with dark colored hair especially short hair with streaks.

Emo Hair for Newbies

Emo Hair for Newbies

You may have heard of the term Emo being thrown around recently and if you have then you may be wondering what on earth it is! Emo is a fashion trend that seems to be rather popular with the younger kids and teenagers of today’s society and like most fashion trends, the Emo hair is a very important part of the look.

Emo Hair

As a general rule Emo hair will be black. Dark browns and even bleached blond has been used as well but the real effect, black is definitely the way forward. The trends for both males and females that are following the Emo look tend to be somewhat the same and without closer inspection, you could be forgiven for getting the boys and girls confused with each other. The only real difference is that Emo girls love to wear their hair long and moody, preferably longer than shoulder length and the boys will have theirs long too but normally only around chin length.
Bangs are an important look with the Emo hair fashion but not normally worn in the usual way. They are usually thinned out a little bit and worn over one eye in the side swept look that has become quite popular in a lot of hair trends.
One last thing to point out with the Emo hair trends is that occasionally various colors can be used in the hair such as neon green, blue and pink but this is usually a “Scene” look rather than an Emo one.

Quick Ways to Perk Up an Emo Style

Quick ways to perk up your Emo Style

If you have already dyed your hair either bleached blonde or black for the latest Emo look then you may be wondering how you can perk your hair up for a special Emo occasion such as a date or a party. Well the quickest way in which the girls following the Emo trend can perk up their hair is to add a few hair accessories such as a brightly colored hair band that matches the rest of the neon colors that they may be wearing at that time. This serves a rather convenient purpose as well as looking good and can help to keep that backcombed look in place with the aid of some hairspray and can actually look really cute.

Emo Style 2009

Of course the best way that you can perk up Emo hair is to add a few colors to it. Bright pinks and blues look rather good with the bleached blonde background and this is by far the easiest as dark hair will need a little bit of bleach beforehand to keep the color in place. Of course if you are willing to spend the time needed on your hair then you can always use colors on dark hair such as greens and blues but they will generally tend to be much harder to make the color come through and may not last as long.

Emo Style 2009

When it comes to colors for an Emo style, you can go for either a temporary or permanent one, both of which have their advantages and disadvantages. Temporary will obviously not last as long but can be the better option if you cannot have the colors in your hair all of the time.

Getting Perfect Emo Hairstyle

Getting perfect Emo hair, tips Summer 2009

If you are wondering what it takes to be an Emo kid, then you do need to have the right hairstyle. For the most part, Emo hairstyles are all about individuality and bright colors and for those that are wondering how to incorporate this into day to day life, help is at hand.

Summer 2009 Emo Hair

First of all, many of the Emo hairstyles require a side swept fringe that is worn across one eye. A lot of people will have problems getting this style of bangs are this is more so the case for those that have rather thick and heavy hair. The best way to combat thick hair and to get the perfect Emo style is to use a pair of thinning hair scissors which although look scary, are actually really easy to use. You basically cut through various sections of the hair to help thin it out. The scissors have razor like sections cut out of it which allows for this thinning action and is perfect for those looking to get thinner hair and the latest funky Emo style.

Summer 2009 Emo Hair

As well as thinning scissors which can help you to get the perfect Emo hairstyle, you may also want to consider getting some wash in, wash out hair colors or even semi-permanent ones. It is not always easy to wear permanent bright colors through the hair, especially with work and school so these temporary versions can help to have great Emo hair on one occasion but still wash it out for more formal events.

Great Condition Emo Hair

Great Condition Emo Hair - Summer 2009 Hair Tips

Emo hair can very often call for some rather drastic measures. For example, constantly dying the hair dark brown, black or bleached blonde, as the trend normally calls upon, can dry out the hair very quickly as can some of the styles and especially for the girls where bouffant and backcombing is needed to get the best look. Looking after your hair is essential to make sure that your Emo hair always looks great and the first thing that you will need to use is a hot oil treatment.

Emo Hair for Girls 2009

Hot oil helps to treat the hair and to rehydrate it when it is looking a bit dry. Dry and damaged hair doesn’t look good with any hair cut or style but for those wanting to really fit in with the Emo style, can break their reputation for being a cool Emo kid. Hot oil treatments can be bought for a fairly cheap price from most places and you can do these on a weekly basis or just when you can find the time.

Emo Boy & Emo Girl

As well as using hot oil treatments to keep your Emo hair in good condition, you need to remember to wash your hair properly and to use a good conditioner. You can buy shampoos with fruit extracts which are great for the hair but those that have coloring protection properties are the best option if you do not want to lose the color in your hair.

Emo Girls

All in all, Emo is all about looking good and following the latest trend, this can be very hard to do with the Emo hairstyles if your hair is not in great condition so if you look after your hair then your reputation as being a cool Emo kid will look after itself!

The Perfect Emo Style for Emo Kids

The Perfect Emo Style

With most fashions trends, Emo is a style that certainly must be just right. The wrong hairstyle or item of clothing could have a member exiled from their Emo group with them claiming that they just are not right for the style.

Emo Styles Spring Summer 2009 Edition

Hair and fashion are very important to Emo kids as is the music that they listen to and the friends that they have. Although the look is mostly about the fashion style of things, if the rest of the package isn’t right then a person cannot be deemed Emo enough so a little more work is needed.

Emo Styles Spring Summer 2009 Edition

First of all, the music must be dark and thoughtful with provocative lyrics to start a real debate over. Punk metal and also Goth metal tends to be the preferred options although Indie music seems to be on the rise with sad and lonely lyrics playing an important part.

Emo Boy Hair Spring Summer 2009 Edition

Clothing should be predominantly black with perhaps the hint of neon green or pink just to add a bit of life to an otherwise dreary outlook. Skulls, crosses, spiders and other night associated designs are preferable perhaps with a scarf worn around the head displaying such patterns or maybe with the shoes having these on them. A studded belt would complete the look, worn over skinny jeans and a pair of classic Converse trainers.

Emo Friends Spring Summer 2009 Edition

The hair is important to an Emo kid and the look should be black, with bangs flowing down mysteriously over one eye and can be wither long or short but with girls, the preference is normally short with the lads opting for the longer variations.

Emo Love Spring Summer 2009 Edition

So, that’s the Emo style – dangerous, dark and a little bit secretive with a rather moody outlook on life!

Using Emo Eyeliner

Emo Eyeliner Goes Hand in Hand With the Emo Hairstyle

The emo style is one of the most popular around today, encompassing beautiful sad music, moody haircuts with both spikes in the back and bangs that droop over the eyes, and a gothic fashion of makeup that relies heavily on black.
The emo look is gloomy and downcast, designed to make the unhappy spirit within the wearer obvious on their surfaces. To wear emo makeup, especially eyeliner, and wear it well, you should be sure that the rest of you looks good in black. Take the time to shift your wardrobe to black or colors that meld with black in some way. Work on your hair, using highlights that blend well with your emo clothes and your basic skin tone.

When this is done, you are ready to complete your emo look with careful application of eyeliner. Any popular black product will do. Start with the usual tracing of the eyelid, but do it twice. After applying this double set of lines, expand the width of the top eyelid line upwards. Then, when you add your eye shadow, emphasize the upper lid again. The lower eyelid should never be equal in heaviness to the upper. When the dark eyeliner or eye shadow starts to reach up into the curve of the bone structure of the eyebrow, fade out the coloration with careful smudging pulled to the outer corner of the eye. Finally, to make your dark lines leap off your face, apply a foundation makeup that is just a little bit lighter than your own skin tone.
